Deckerville rolls to finals
GTE champion and two-time district winner Deckerville was in action Thursday night, as the Eagles faced New Life Christian in the semifinals of the Class D district. They won in four games (25-14, 25-13, 20-25, 25-14) to advance to Friday's district final. Deckerville will face the winner of Kingston vs. Peck at 6 p.m. The Tribune will have a full report on this game in Thursday's paper. Until then, here are some photos.

Wow, nice coverage on vollyball from Akron. I thought we cover local teams, guess not....
Nothing against Deckerville but check out the Tribune today and you will see why the comment was made. Good Luck to you Friday night.
We cover 11 schools: Bad Axe, Caseville, Cass City, Deckerville, Harbor Beach, EPBP, North Huron, Owen-Gage, Port Hope, Ubly and USA.
I'm sorry, I not sure if it's what happen yesterday in Texas or the news regarding the Tribune or both that put me in a fowl mood this morning, but some of the comments made regarding all the attention Ubly Football and now the Deckerville Volleyball team are receiving is just ignorant. Good heavens, don't we expect the sportswriters (including radio host, blog writers, & all) to give a greater share of the attention to the (sports) newsmakers? I know Anonymous; if I don't like the comments you made, don't read them! But then I'd miss some of the more insightful information on the local blogs. Also, no I'm not from Ubly or Deckerville, I'm from Harbor Beach, and every time we play these local team I want to "respectfully, kick their butts." But, now that they're the local teams still in the playoffs, I wish them luck. It just makes our local leagues look that much stronger! So, if these teams continue to have success, good luck & keep feeding us the "cornbread" as some of the comments suggest.
PS, to all the local sportswriter, you guys do a great job covering ALL the sports in the Thumb especially dealing with all the egos. Thanks for the time and energy you put into your work!
